Message from the CEO Luis DeJesus
Dear AYUDA's Friends and Clients:
I take a great pleasure sending you this e-newsletter. Good communications whether they be among family members, friends, business associates, or nations always helps to broaden our knowledge and resources. And to improve AYUDA's communication with friends and clients, we will be sending a monthly newsletter to inform you briefly of AYUDA's effort to help the community of Miami Beach. As the CEO, I manage to supervise the Program Director Camila Rocha and make sure the programs are running smoothly. As a human being, I take my hat off to all the counselors and staff that works with our clients; they are the responsible for making AYUDA such a great organization! They are the ones that hold the fort together! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
Sincerely,
Luis DeJesus Chief Executive Officer

AYUDA is extremely grateful for the support given by the Eden Roc and specially the Marketing Director Mr. Saun Lightbourne for thinking "outside the box" and instead of dispensing of valuable nutrients bringing his heart to those in need within our community. We are especially thankful to Mrs. Lumari Marina Mcaninch re-known fashion designer and AYUDA's vice-chair of the Board who introduced us to Mr. Lightbourne and made the donation possible.

Intern and Diversity
AYUDA has incorporated a group of six interns to the staff. "They are a great asset because of the diversity they provide to AYUDA's clients," said AYUDA's President Diana Susi, "Chelsy, Caridad, and Dayamy are Latin, Julie and Vanessa are Americans, and Sam is Israeli." This group of interns brings to the community the reality of cultural diversity and AYUDA wishes to show the clients a non-discriminatory view and how people with different backgrounds can work together and accomplish remarkable goals.
Chelsy Behar started her internship with AYUDA on August 2006 and was hired on May 2007 due to her incredible interpersonal skills. With a BSW in Social Work from FIU, Chelsy assists and runs groups for juvenile first time offenders and their families with the counselor of Family Empowerment Program at Overtown and Miami Beach.
Caridad Monteagudo will be getting her BSW in Social Work on August of 2007 from FIU. At AYUDA, Caridad assists in the Parents Now! Program developing home based supportive counseling.
Julie Bernier started on September 2006 assisting the Family Empowerment Program. With an MSW from Barry University, Julie has been wonderful when dealing with the teens due to her listening skills.
Assisting the Girls Reach High Program is Vanessa Madrazo who obtains her M.S. Ed. in Marriage and Family from UM. Vanessa assists by keeping files, leading sessions, and providing guidance to the teenage girls.
