Dear AYUDA's Friends and Clients:
I take a great pleasure sending you this e-newsletter. Good communications whether they be among family members, friends, business associates, or nations always helps to broaden our knowledge and resources. And to improve AYUDA's communication with friends and clients, we will be sending a monthly newsletter to inform you briefly of AYUDA's effort to help the community of Miami Beach.
As the CEO, I manage and oversee the Program Director Camila Rocha and make sure that the quality of our programs are running accordly to all regulations dictated by the Board. As a human being, I congratulate the counselors and staff that work so hard with our clients; they are responsible for making AYUDA such a great organization! They are the ones that hold the fort together! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! Keep up the good work!

FORD FOCUS 2007
AYUDA is raffling a 2008 FORD FOCUS ZX3 in order to raise funds to support the Early Childhood educational program. The FORD FOCUS is a generous donation from Gus Machado Hialeah Dealership and the winner will be drawn in December 2007 at Gus Machado at 1200 W 49th Street, Hialeah, FL. The lucky person will select the color of the car. The winner need not be present.

BOOKS & BOOKS
On January the 21st, AYUDA partnered with Temple Beth Sholom and Books & Books to promote an event called "Literature & Lunch." AYUDA took 20 teens from the Family Empowerment and the Girls Reach High Leadership Program to Books & Books on Lincoln Road. The teenagers enjoyed the morning by listening to Carolina Mayo and her experience as an author who published her first book and Ray "Knowledge" Dominguez and his group of teens, The Write Side Poets Inc.
After the presentation, the attendees went to Johnny Rockets to have lunch.Two of the Girls Reach High clients won a $25 Books & Books gift certificates. "This is very cool," said Leah Braunstein, 15 years-old, "The field trip to Books & Books was a very nice thing to do because we heard other teenagers do poetry and how they started liking it. I'm not into poetry but listening to them jamming all enthusiastic was so inspiring."

FLORIDA PANTHERS SUPPORTS AYUDA TO INFORM THE COMMUNITY THE SERVICES PROVIDED
Olympus Foundation of the Americas trained AYUDA's choir and classical orchestra to perform at the Bank Atlantic Center on February 22nd before a Florida Panthers hockey game. In addition, staff distributed information to attendees while increasing awareness of the Miami Dade community.
The 50 children and youth enrolled in one of AYUDA's After School centers, have a myriad of disadvantages and different forms of limitations, such as physical motor disabilities and poverty. "It is amazing what these kids are capable of doing!" said AYUDA's CEO Luis DeJesus. "First, I though it would be challenging. But after five minutes, I was amazed by the harmony and the synchrony that they have. Thanks to The Children's Trust, AYUDA is able to bring more of these enrichment programs to the community."
